Alan P. Marks

Some boxes are better left unopened.

After receiving the news of her father’s death—a man she hasn’t seen or heard from in over 35 years, not since her mother fled with her following the mysterious disappearance of her older brother—a woman returns to the small Maine town where she lived as a child in a final effort to confront the tragic events of her past.

About The Author

Alan P. Marks

Alan P. Marks

Growing up in “Stephen King Country”, Alan P. Marks has long dreamed of becoming a best-selling author (or at least getting a novel published). In the meantime, he teaches at the University of Maine where he has been on faculty for over a quarter century.

After getting his M.A. in Creative Writing there, he simply never left. He teaches courses on writing and literature, including topics such as monsters, the apocalypse, vampires, and (yes) Stephen King. He recently received his MFA in Creative Writing from the Stonecoast program at the University of Southern Maine. He is still working on that elusive first novel.
